Exhausted (me, I took a nap in the middle of the living room floor)
Electronic Entertainment (I even played 2 levels of Lego Star Wars with Nate)
Exercise (Nate and Hazel had swim team practice, C, T, S and A rode their bikes to the movies, Rebekah and Hazel swam at a friend's house)

D-Day

No, we did not invade France.
We did:
Drive to Rebekah's French Horn lesson
Swim like Ducks (hard to do and very funny to watch)
Put Dulce De Leche frozen Dairy product on our waffle
Eat Dogs (Hot), Dorritos, veggies in Dill Dip (we even allowed double dipping)
Drop off the marimba resonators at the powder coat company
Devour Divine, Different watermelon cookies
Said Delectable a lot

Sew What?

The 3 oldest kids went on a pioneer trek last week.  They needed two changes of period clothes.  We had been given A LOT of calico (I mean many bolts of fabric).  I told the kids and their friends that anyone who wanted to make clothes was welcome to come over and I would even provide the fabric and patterns.

These beautiful young ladies are wearing the dresses they made at our house.  I am so proud of the good job they did.  They came home filthy, but happy!

Truman made his own shirts and a really awesome officer jacket with tails.  He also wore this bonnet on the trek instead of his hat, because he said the hat was itchy.  The bonnet was made by Abby and is marvel super hero print, very macho.

Christian was less ambitious and contributed to his clothing by sewing the buttons on his clothes.  He said he lost about 5 in the 4 days!

C is for Cookie

On Saturday we celebrated C day! For breakfast we had Coffee Cake. For a snack we had Candy and Chocolate. Rebekah and Abby made some delicious Cookies. For dinner, we had Cheese and Crackers, and Cucumber Salad. Saturday is also the day I picked up the Children from the Pioneer Trek.

B - the letter of the day

B was mostly for Busy.

We did eat some great B foods:
Bran Muffins and Bananas
Bagels
BBQ Beef on Buns, Baked Beans, and Broccoli

The Busy part was:
swim team
3 dentist appts.
a birthday party Abby went to
a cub scout meeting
and a summer Band clinic

Summer Fun Brought to you by the letter A

This summer we have decided that we will have 1 day for each letter of the alphabet. We started on Thursday, with A day. We will eat things and do things that start with the letter A.

For Breakfast, we had Applejacks, and Apple Juice.

For lunch we had All-Bran crackers,

 Apples,

and Alphabet Soup.

For a snack, we had Hostess Apple pies.

For dinner we had Asparagus Alfredo and Acorn squash and we drank Agua. But we have no pictures.

We also did some Aquatic Activities.

The kids on the trek made Apple Fritters, but they didn't even know it was A day!

Abby's summer project #1

I left one morning to run a couple of errands with Truman and when I came home Abby had built this out of newspaper and staples.  I think it is pretty cool.  She sat in it and meditated...
