This was the last week of Summer Vacation for the Welling kids. We filled our time finishing books and shopping for school supplies. Thursday night we had "meet the teacher". We have 5 kids at the elementary school again this year and 5 fabulous teachers. It is always fun to go to the school, find where the class rooms are, get the classroom supply lists, and meet up with friends. I can't say enough times how truly grateful I am for a good school, teachers who love our kids and even more basic: the opportunities to gain an education. We made surprise bread* on Thursday, several small loaves to bring to the teachers and several big loaves for lunches.
*surprise bread is named such because of the surprise of cutting into the spiraling colors. This time we made bread in yellow, pink and blue. The loaves for the teachers we added cinnamon and sugar swirl.

We still have 2 and a half weeks until our school starts. Stuart will be in 1st grade. He's super excited to be at school all day. I think Kami is too. :)
